My name is Hagerah Malik and I am the Mentee Recruitment Coordinator for The Populi Foundation, an organization founded by University of Chicago Medical School students to provide free, longitudinal mentoring for premed students. Would you mind forwarding this message to your organization and encouraging students to apply as mentees?:
I’m reaching out to you on behalf of a new pre-medical mentoring nonprofit, The Populi Foundation. Our organization is dedicated to diversifying medical schools and the physician workforce by providing free, 1-on-1 mentorship and advising to socioeconomically disadvantaged premedical students.
For our new longitudinal program, we are enrolling rising freshmen and sophomores for the 2020-21 school year. The students will have a series of small tasks/activities to complete, ranging from CV development and personal statement drafts to seeking leadership or involvement in extracurricular activities. They will meet virtually once per month with their very own medical student mentor. All interested students need to do is apply via this link:
https://forms.gle/
We are looking specifically for 1st and 2nd year college students for the longitudinal program, however, as we create content and host webinars in the future, students of all years college will be able to benefit.
TL;DR
What: Free Pre-medical Mentoring w/The Populi Foundation. Medical School Student Mentors to connect with 1 on 1!
