Macaulay announces a series of exciting, interactive panel discussions this spring celebrating the work of rebel women. “Las Rebeldes, Hispanoamerican Women Writers and Artists,” includes 6 events hosted by Distinguished Lecturer Carmen Boullosa. Attendees will be introduced to an array of powerful and vocal women from different geographies, backgrounds, and cultures at the Macaulay building on the Upper West Side. Each event is free and open to all.

“Las Rebeldes” events will explore Mexican American history, envision life influenced by foreign fascists, give voice to feelings shared by immigrants navigating New York City, and much more.

Please join us to hear from an amazing group of rebels: award winning poets, fiction writers, literary critics, and academics from Latin America, Europe and the U.S. and explore rebellion in art.

On February 19, Giannina Braschi reads from “PUTINOIKA,” a tragicomedy about the Trump/Putin era.
