We are a forum for students to explore the confluence of art and science through discussion, collaborative projects, and contact with academic speakers. We want to bridge the gap between the arts and sciences to provide students with a new integrated view of how our world works. We will introduce and showcase to our members the careers and interdisciplinary opportunities that exist at this intersection of STEAM.
The Art of Science provides students with the unique opportunity to: ~ submit research and/or art to a CUNY-wide Interdisciplinary Research Journal to be published in the spring ~ assist in the creation and graphic design of the Interdisciplinary Research Journal ~ attend workshops and webinars taught by students and faculty who work in fields that combine art and science (I.e. we have had speakers who specialize in the physics of dance and workshops on the chemistry and mathematics behind great sculptures) ~ be alerted of new events and opportunities in the NYC STEAM (Science Tech Engineering Art Math) community ~ design and host a workshop of their own to our community of students
