Hi First_Name!
Here are some updates for organization leaders below. Remember, Student Development is here to help with any questions, membership engagement, event planning, group dynamics, and more. You can always reply to this email, too.
Spring Events and Reservations
Reservations and event requests for the Spring semester open November 1st! Please begin submitting your requests for important event dates as early as possible (requests submitted before 11/1 will be ignored for Spring 2025). We will begin reviewing requests for space for the spring semester after 11/14. Club Officers can request space by creating an event in Club Macaulay, more info is available here: https://community.macaulay.cuny.edu/studentactivities/reservations-events/student-event-form/
Budget Revision Deadline
If your group received an allocation from the Scholars Council during the fall semester, you must revise your budget and submit for final approval by student development by November 12th. Revised budgets can be emailed to student.clubs@mhc.cuny.edu. You cannot access your funding unless your budget is fully approved. Further, failure to have your groups budget revised by the deadline will result in your group only being eligible to receive 50% of your allocated funding.
LGBTQIA+ Safe Zone Training
Join this 2 hour training to learn more about creating inclusive environments and celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community. This is also an opportunity to learn more about LGBTQIA+ resources throughout CUNY. Food will be provided! Register Here.

Leadership: Teambuilding
Your members want ways to be a part of the group. Though you are the leaders, and setting the stage for the group, think of ways that your members can be involved in decision making. This is one way to help build the team and keep your members engaged in the direction and activities of the group. The video below shows different ways to make group decisions that might work for your group:

Club Advisement Meetings: Good Practices
Please see below for helpful guidelines for meetings. These also serve as tips for any meeting you may be having with your own club members, thesis advisors, academic advisors, etc,
Be Present:
- Have your camera on, and make sure you can use the mic.
- Find a quiet place to meet, and avoid spaces with lots of distractions
Plan Ahead:
- Put meeting times/dates/links in your calendar/planner, with reminders if needed.
- Let us know if you cannot make it in advance if your plans have changed.
Come with questions, consider goals, and bring up concerns you might have. Also, be prepared to save any important links and take notes throughout the meeting to share with your group and reference for the future.
