October Club Council

This Friday 10/13/23 at 4pm is the next Club Council meeting. Just a reminder, this is a mandatory meeting and each club is required to send at least 1 leader to represent their group. In addition, this month we'll be talking about communication and email communication features. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to yassir.azzam@macaulay.cuny.edu
 

Haunted Castle: Halloween Party

Macaulay's Halloween party is going to be one of our biggest events of the semester, and the Scholars Council is welcoming any clubs to cosponsor. If you're interested in partnering in any capacity, reach out to Selina.Zheng@macaulay.cuny.edu or just come and have a good time; RSVP here:

Budget Deadlines

The budget submission deadline for Fall 2023 is tomorrow (Wednesday 10/11/23). Clubs will still have an opportunity in the spring to apply for additional funding, or apply for a budget for the remainder of the year if they haven't received one. Submit your budget using the template and form here: https://community.macaulay.cuny.edu/studentactivities/budgets/

Groups that received their allocation from the Scholars Council, have until 11/13 to submit their revised budget for approval to student.clubs@mhc.cuny.edu.

 

Equity

This image is worth a thousand words in explaining the difference between equality and equity. Equity, refers to fairness, which is not always the same thing as equality. Think as you are running your organizations, are your practices fair and equitable? Perhaps everyone has an equal chance to participate, but take special effort to make sure it’s fair for everyone to participate. Some considerations could be notice for meetings & events and timing of events (is this a time people are likely to have work, family, or other obligations?).

 

Giving Tuesday

It's the time of year again that our Advancement and Communications department starts planning fundraising efforts to go to support all of the clubs, events and student activities we have at Macaulay. We'd love your help giving back and with the efforts. This year's giving Tuesday is 11/28 and there are so many ways for club leaders to help get the word out: https://macaulay.cuny.edu/gtvolunteer
