ABOUT US

Not Just A Club...

A revival of The 67th Street Scribe, we are Macaulay's Creative Writing Club and Literary and Art Magazine, SCRIBE.

We understand how difficult it can be to make time for your creative hobbies. In order to combat the way schoolwork and social obligations can take away from developing your talents, we've established SCRIBE as a way to keep you on track and publish the work that you make. The Creative Writing Club is a place for all members of the Macaulay community to meet, to get inspired, and to create and share their creative works. At the same time, SCRIBE Magazine will seek out these creative works—whether they are art, photography, writing, or in some other medium—and publish them in periodic print issues, as well as in accessible digital formats as necessary.

One-on-one Workshops

If you're submitting one of your works for the publication, then ask us to hook you up with an editor. The editor will work individually with you so you can produce your best work possible for the publication.

Contests

We have contests all throughout the year with various themes and prizes. It gives you a highlight in the SCRIBE Magazine and challenges you so the Macaulay community can be wowed.

Positions

From the Executive Board to the Editorial Board to the writers themselves, SCRIBE is run by a large team of dedicated individuals. If becoming part of the team is something you'd like to do, then just ask us: we can always use a hand.

Open Mic Events

We hold open mic and brainstorming events for you to recite your poems, read your favorite book passages, act out sidesplitting skits, sing, or share your ideas so we can critique and hopefully get impressed.
