Good to see you, First_Name.
Happy February, Mountain Lions! 🩷
Well, well, well… look who made it through January. Give yourselves a round of applause! You survived the post-holiday slump, the never-ending winter chill, and the sudden realization that maybe those New Year’s resolutions were a tad too ambitious (it’s okay, the gym will still be there in March).
Now, February is upon us—a month of love, groundhogs, and questioning why it’s the shortest month despite somehow feeling so long (we should honestly just skip to Spring Break—who's with me?). Will Mother Nature (hopefully) doom us with another six weeks of snow? Will you finally work up the courage to stop being nonchalant and talk to your lecture hall crush before Valentine’s Day? Who’s to say! What we do know is that the semester is in full swing, and it’s time to lock in. Yes, young scholar, the syllabus grace period is over, Blackboard/Brightspace is filling up with assignments, and if you haven’t bought your textbooks yet… well, let’s just say, good luck.
But fear not! February isn’t just about academic grind mode. It’s also a month of celebration! Whether you’re spending Valentine’s Day with a significant other, your besties, or just you and a pint of ice cream (no shame), love is in the air. Plus, Lunar New Year, Black History Month, and some long weekends mean plenty of reasons to take a break, recharge, and maybe—just maybe—catch up on that “optional” reading your professor definitely expects you to have done.
So stay warm, stay focused, and most importantly—stay tuned for all the events and happenings we’ve got lined up for you this month (more details below)!
Let’s make February one for the books, Macaulay!
With love,
MSC ;)
